Leakage detection – an effective piggy bank

In a compressed air system, leaks occur over time. These leaks are very resource-intensive for companies.

A hole of 1 mm in diameter will, with a pressure of 6 bar, release 1,3 liters per second.
Converted into power, this corresponds to 0,3 kW. At 8000 operating hours during a year and if you calculate that the electricity costs just under NOK 1/kwh, this adds up to NOK 2160.

A leak detector can be used to locate leaks.
This is a device that picks up ultrasonic frequencies that occur when there is a leak in, for example, a pipe with compressed air.

Easy localization

With an LD 500 instrument and associated software, one can simply identify and estimate savings. The size of the leak is indicated directly on the screen. This smart instrument has a built-in camera where you can take a picture of a leak with instructions for the leak point. The image is saved and a full report can subsequently be retrieved to remedy the leaks.

More information about the instrument can be found here.
